Herman’s hash run: 21 Nov with 7 AM start at Temecula Middle School track.
LOOKING FORWARD TO DEC:
19 dec (The 3rd sat in Dec) will be held at Dripping Springs instead of SRP…bring trail improvement items.
Scott Holman spoke to us about proper stretching out –hold stretches for 30 seconds –15 isn’t enough and 60 seconds doesn’t have increased benefits. That’s for dominant muscles…..lesser muscle don’t require as much. Important aspect of stretching is to have muscles feel relaxed as you stretch..if they aren’t relaxed (ie are hurting) then you are just making them tense up and are stressing them out. Back off the amount of stretch if it hurts.

SRP DATA FROM NONI FOR SAT. 7TH
Hi All – I spoke with Carole Bell, the organizer of this Saturday’s cleanup effort at the Santa Rosa Plateau. She said she would appreciate if our group would clean up the area at the end of Corona Calle Camino after our group run that we’re starting at 7:30 from the Sylvan Meadows parking lot. (Carole said we’ll be rewarded with views out to Camp Pendleton from our cleanup site! I will bring blonde brownies to provide energy for the post run cleanup effort! Don’t forget to bring extra fluids!)
Eric and I are going to pick up trash bags and gloves from Carole at the visitor center before the group run and we’ll be able to hand them out to anyone who wants to join the cleanup effort.
Hope to see you at SRP tomorrow! Eric and Noni

Volunteers sought for plateau cleanup
A Santa Margarita River Watershed cleanup day is planned for Saturday.
Volunteers should report at 8 a.m. to the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve visitor center at 39400 Clinton Keith Road, west of Murrieta, to receive a T-shirt, supplies and directions.
Volunteers are invited to attend a free barbecue at Perret Park in Lakeland Village at noon after the cleanup, a Santa Rosa Ecological Reserve news release said.
The Santa Margarita River, more than 26 miles long, provides habitat for plants and animals in San Diego and Riverside counties and empties into the Pacific Ocean. Since 1995, volunteers have picked up some 1,450 tons of trash, the release said.
Information: Call Carole Bell at 951-677-6951 ext. 223 or e-mail cbell@tnc.org.

OCTOBER WED NIGHT MEETING RECAP:
1. The Cake Christine made had choc pudding in the middle, surrounded by rich super moist chocolate cake, topped off by this luscious yet light, whipped creamy frosting, white with green high lights or maybe vice versa. Everyone say, YUMMMM!!
2. Victor took over as acting president (give that man a gavel, someone!) and made the following proclamations: First, everyone interested in Ragnore relay race for next April, it’s not too soon to start thinkin’ about it now.
3. Victor says, join him on Friday October 16th at Harry’s Pacific Grill for happy times social hour.
4. Victor suggested everyone contemplate a run on Thanksgiving day at SRP at 7 AM. Everyone quit saying Yummm from eating cake just long to say, “OK”, thus everyone who is in town on Turkey day is now expected at SRP at 7 AM for that run. LOOK OUT, WILD TURKEYS!!
5. Steve A. wants to get a group to start running at Dripping Springs (Aqua Tibia) every other weekend. it was suggested that the first run be a trail improvement run and people take clippers and such up to kind of clear the trail. More on that, next meeting probably.
6. Maurice and others are reading the book. ” Born to Run” by Christopher McDougal….reports are that it is very good, and at the library.
7. Brian and Christine want to do more biking with others, but not speedy gonzales faster than a speeding bullet rides—they want to ride n chat, mt biking around Diamond valley lake at easy pace sounds good to them or road biking at non break neck speed.
8. Last, if one goes to Running Times on face book, interesting people are being interviewed and saying interesting things.
9 Last of all, that cake was super : )
