Re ‘how about 7am”
I’m not sure it’s a good idea to put such comments up here. I doubt the people who run on saturday mornings will post their replies here and if they do some might like 7am and others 6am. How we we then know when to show up?
The start time changed to 6am for the summer. If we start changing back and forth all the time it will be a mess. I suggest a decision should be made at one of the Wednesday meetings, announced on the website, and then we stick with it (hang on, hasn’t that happened already?).
As usual I will do as I’m told.

Do regularly meet on Monday? How many runners show up. Is any runner in your group training for the RocknRoll marathon? I have contacted the San Diego Track Club about linking up with their training program for the marathon.

Yes, we regularly meet at Los Alamos Sports park at the back section at 6pm on Mondays. A number of members of the Running Center Redliners are signed up for the Rock n Roll Marathon in June, 2010.

You may very well be right. I had gotten a note from Bob telling me to put up a reminder on this site regarding Saturdays run but he didnt say what time to show so I made the mistake of “assuming” 7am. I should have checked with him again. Now Im guessing that since Ive had this 7am up here for a few days we should plan on 7 am because some may have seen this and wont be back to see any corrections. I apologize for any problems this has caused. – dougie

Well I had checked the website Friday night to see what time the Santa Rosa run was going to be. I seen the “how about 7″ and was not sure which time to show up. Well I slept through 6 AND 7! How’s that for a fix………..Well I still need to get a run in. Anyone for Sunday morning somewhere?

Hubby Bob, Doug and newish club member Sandra mt biked the plateau Friday. I had (I thought) crushed the previous big loop record with a 28:30 ride but Doug squashed that into the dirt with a 27:30 before we others showed for joint ride. The group of us had a really nice ride with Sandra out for her first ride on the ‘new-to-her’ Red Bomber, a sweet high tech Specialized similar to Midnight Rider Doug’s. Her biking abilities progressing at about the speed of a cheetah (watch out Barb and Ingy and Linda!)….. and Iain, if you remember where you did the back summersault, Sandra even made it up UP and over that tough strip. Humbled me who usually comes off the bike near the peak.
Not on the running front but Sandra and I went to the Animal Friends of Valley Wine N’ K-9 fund raiser at Wilson creek winery. We had a fun time in lovely setting, with high light of the day being 15 dogs needing homes putting on a fashion show. I’m the first to say that dogs are dogs, not little humans, but if it takes a fashion show to find them homes and raise money, I’m all for it. If anyone out there is interested, amongst the dogs seeking homes are a pure black about 1 year old NOT HYPER, NOT SHAKY, NOT BARKY Chihuahua, a pure bred Pomeranian with same mellow personality and a very rare breed-a Sheba Inu (a 30 pound dog with dense short tan coat, high curled up tail, that looks kinda like a very scaled down Akita). A 4 month old Rottie/coon hound mix stole my heart but I haven’t got an extra hand to walk a 3rd dog, while a super friendly high IQ maybe 8 month old black and white border collie type stole Sandra’s. All these dogs were great with each other and with all the commotion of the day. All have been spayed, have shots and vet checks. I believe all those above were females. Contact animal Friends of Valley or me for further info. (951) 694-9465 gets you me.

We were in Albuquerque (did I get that right?) visiting relatives the last weekend of July, and I ran the Run To Break the Silence 5K. It was held at the Sandia Casino, a very beautiful place so I guess someone did not break even. It was warm, with lots of pretty clouds from hurricane Dolly. The 20K started at 6:30, and some really, really fit people took off over the trails. Next came some really fit people doing a 10K. Finally, some fit and not so fit people did the 5K. It was mostly trail running with a lot of gullies. I definitely noticed the altitude-even though it was mostly downhill on the way back, I just didn’t feel like I could get going. I did manage to win my age group.
